Small Animal Services

Our goal is to provide your pet with excellent care in a comfortable environment.

Preventative Care and Wellness

Routine vaccinations are the backbone of preventative medicine. We recommend starting vaccinations for healthy puppies and kittens at 8 weeks of age, with 3-4 weeks in between each booster. We will work with you to come up with the best timetable for your pet's immunizations.

Flea, tick, and heartworm prevention and intestinal parasite control are essential to keeping your dog or cat free of parasites. We carry different brands and formulations to make sure we have what is best for you.

Surgery and Dentistry

We perform sterilization procedures (spay/neuter), tumor removal surgeries, general soft tissue procedures, and select orthopedic surgeries.

Dental health is important to your pet's general wellbeing. Anesthetized tooth cleaning is often a necessary part of oral hygiene. In addition to cleanings, we are able to perform tooth extractions.

All anesthetized patients are monitored with a state-of-the-art system complete with EKG, pulse oximetry, blood pressure, and respiration parameters.

Diagnostics

We perform regular blood tests and examine urine in our clinic. Occasionally, we need to send samples to referral laboratories for more advanced diagnostics.

Microscopy for basic evaluation of skin tumors and other external lesions is available in-house.

Fecal tests for intestinal parasites can be performed in-clinic or sent off for analysis.

Tumors removed from patients are examined by pathologists at Iowa State University.

Digital x-ray machine for evaluation of bones, joints, and body cavities.

Perform and submit x-rays to the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals for hip and elbow joint certification of breeding dogs.

Pharmacy

We carry nearly everything we prescribe. Our veterinarians have a broad selection of medicine available to treat your pet.

End of life care

Our team is ready to help you make decisions when the end of your pet's life is near. We offer cremation services and different options for returning the cremains.
